Aoi's Fresh Look

...just in time for the new year, Aoi's designed and ready for illustrating. I've still got so much work to do on this series, but finalizing a design and a color palette is a good start. ^_^

Cheer for the New Year

...well, not quite yet, but it's on the way. ^_^ In the meantime, I hope you'll enjoy this older piece from when this series was in the wee stages of production. As I was digging through and organizing my files and with the holidays coming up, I noticed this old piece and decided to share it. It was something that I did as a sort of, "what if" of sorts. In the story Aoi (the blue water spirit) and Ashley (the little human boy) take part in a school play for Christmas. They both got cast as elves. These were their costumes. ^^;

Long Time, No Posts!

Hello there!

Firstly, I must apologize for the excessive delay in posting any updates to this page. It's been quite a while and I am sorry for that.

Well, things are still ongoing with this series and lately, things have picked up quite a bit. A lot of the characters have recently been fleshed out and redesigned. A few characters have even had name changes. But most notably, the story has moved from being a comic to a children's fantasy adventure book. But, the spirit of the story remains the same. It follows the life and adventures of Aoi, a young water spirit and her new-found human friend, Ashley. In fact, here is the most recent image of Aoi and Ashley.

There's still so much more that remains to be seen, so I hope you'll join us for many future updates.

Blast from the Past

...I know this is ridiculously old and overdue, but I finally got around to doing some new Aoi: Blue Sun art. This is Aoi's mother, Adjani with her star-crossed lover, Shin (from Yoroiden Samurai Troopers). This was back when I used to write about this series and how the water spirits came to be. They were an original idea I had that turned out really well and that I just stuck with for so long

Anyway, in another world, she was in love with Shin and he with her, but they couldn't be together because she's next in line to be the leader of her people and therefore must devote her existence to them. Beyond that, she will live on forever as the waters do and he, being human, is doomed to one day perish.

There was a contest recently that I wanted to participate in on DeviantArt.com that involved the Troopers, so I decided to revisit this idea and went for it. So, once again and for the first time in a long time, here's Adjani featured with my dear Shin.

Getting Started...
